Scheduled scan implementation in cfg80211/mac80211!

The scheduled scan implementation has just been applied in the wireless-next tree, so it will probably be included in 2.6.40!

This is a very cool feature that the WL12XX hardware supports, which allows us to save power when scanning for APs to become available.  The hardware and firmware can perform scans periodically on their own, so the host processor doesn't have to wake up.  When an AP, it wakes up the host for processing.

Panda WLAN out-of-the-box with 2.6.39-rc3!

Yes, the OpenLink WLAN driver works out-of-the-box on Pandaboard with the latest kernel releases!

For now, the only change that we need to make is to enable the wl12xx modules in the kernel configuration.  But I have just sent a patch to linux-omap, so in the near future, that will not be needed anymore.

If you want to use the latest upstream kernel with your Panda, you just need to use the default omap2plus kernel configuration and manually add the wl12xx driver:

Three happy winners of BeagleBoards with WL1271 daughter cards

Thank you everyone who joined us in the first OpenLink WLAN workshop at the ELC in San Francisco, Apr-12th 2011. The workshop was a success! We got a good crowd of people interested in seeing the OpenLink WLAN driver (wl12xx) working live and putting their hads on it for the first time.  We actually exceeded the occupation capacity of the room, next time we need to have a bigger room and more setups so that everyone can participate.
